Last week I had the opportunity to meet with one of our first Action Card clients, Martinizing Dry Cleaning at their franchise convention in Milwaukee. I spoke to a group of highly dedicated, tenured dry cleaning owners, some of whom owned multiple locations, and I was impressed with their willingness to embrace technology and share best practices. For Volano Solutions, it was an exciting opportunity to meet one of our national clients face to face. I wanted to share some key takeaways.
Common Denominators in Compliance Standards
Many of the franchise companies with whom we work share a desire to replicate the practices of the highest performing franchisees at all of their locations. Martinizing was no different. They are building a strong social media presence both locally and nationally to tell their brand story. They engaged us with Action Card to help manage that brand narrative and the success traits that make their top performers so successful. I was impressed at dinner with the open exchange of information that owners shared with each other on a range of businesses management issues. Like many businesses, these owners wanted to ensure that they were quickly made aware of issues that corporate saw on reviews that might be limiting revenue and profit and welcomed the transparency of Action Card’s cloud based reviews and the collaborative action item identification.
Partnership With Corporate
From where I say, Martinizing franchise owners seemed to have a strikingly harmonious relationship with the main office. They attended the conference to learn and to make sure they weren’t missing opportunities to leverage the network and corporate to drive customer acquisition and retention in their respective markets. I am always concerned that franchisees and location managers will view Action Card as a punitive tool and the review process as one that does not help them improve. The opposite is true and the owners with whom I spoke in Milwaukee are eager to better communicate with corporate, more quickly see and address identified issues and share pointers with each other using the document library within the app. We’re excited to continue working with this impressive company and honored to be a small part of their 65 year old tradition..
